Welcome to my website, another "Work in Progress!" My name is Dorothy Jean Kloss and I am a photographer who has been shooting with film cameras for over 25 years. I only recently began experimenting with a digital camera, but I prefer using film. I built my first darkroom (of three) after taking a class on Intro to darkroom techniques at the Erie Art Museum, which was the only formal class I ever took on photography outside of a few workshops . I soon became hooked on the thrill of seeing an image appear in the developer. Later on (about 15-20 years) I also started learning to work with digital files which require as much time as working in a darkroom. My latest endeavor (after all these years) has become film testing - to improve my skills in the darkroom and move on to more advanced techniques.
I've tried to accommodate the not-so-friendly cell phone version of my website. Unfortunately it isn't as responsive as it could probably be and for that reason, it's probably better viewed on a computer or laptop.
As you browse through my site, you will get an idea of who I am, how I feel and how subtle my work is. I hope you enjoy the ride!
